Kora (Pilgrimage)

Kora or pilgrimage is an important aspect of the Tibetan culture. The Tibetan pilgrims travel for months to arrive at a sacred site, walking thousands of miles whilst performing full-body prostrations every three steps. To us foreigners, it seems an impossible task, and we watch with astonishment of their perseverance. Yet pilgrimage is more than a physical journey for the Tibetan people, it is a mental ordeal to reconnect one's spirituality with nature, and free the mind from negativities.
